Village-house cost-sharing: HK$200 off each

When 2 to 3 nearby village houses (same or neighbouring village, max 3) are booked for the same day and same time-slot, each gets HK$200 off the base price. For example, nearby village houses around Tuen Mun are HK$1,300 each, so sharing the trip brings it to HK$1,100 each. Booking together with neighbours is the best value.

Important Notes

  1. Rates apply to a 24-tonne vacuum tanker only.
  2. Rates are for Monday–Saturday, 09:00–18:00 (public holidays excluded). Other hours quoted separately.
  3. Quote includes up to 100 ft of hose run. 100–500 ft: HK$200 per additional 100 ft. Over 500 ft: quoted separately.
  4. Special conditions (height/traffic/utilities/road-weight restrictions, steep access roads, etc.) requiring more than one vehicle will be charged at 1.5×–2× the base rate.
  5. Motion Waste Management Limited reserves the right to amend any terms and conditions. In case of dispute, the company's decision is final.

How often to desludge

Check every six months; desludge past 30 cm

The thresholds below come from the Hong Kong EPD’s Guidance Notes on Discharges from Village Houses, not from us.

Inspect at least every 6 months

EPD guidance advises owners to inspect the system and measure sludge depth at least every six months — more often for heavily used village houses.

Desludge past 30 cm

Once the sludge layer exceeds 30 cm (1 ft) or a quarter of the overall water depth, book a desludge — don’t wait for an overflow.

Overflow or smell: check now

Overflow, slow flushing or a strong smell are signals to inspect immediately — leaving it risks backflow into the house.

How to measure: use a pole at least 80 cm long with white towelling tied to the end, open a hole in the scum layer first, then push it to the bottom and read how far up the sludge has stained it.
